some confusion is understandable for non-Brits, who don't realize that London (and most of the rest of the country, as far as I can tell) doesn't have a functioning first-world state-run ambulance service of any kind

@adamhjk How does a CLI solve for input parameters that are structured? MCP gives strong typing, CLI is only going to cause the LLM to guess at the shape of an input based on a weakly typed example from the —help flag or error message, no?

I've certainly deployed beyond a demo. There is nothing MCP does that wouldn't be better handled by a CLI that wraps it for you. It's more composable. It's faster. It's useful in multiple situations.

@AdamRackis You should look at the writings of @swardley here: IIRC he called out the direction of travel a year or more ago. Access to big, powerful, expensive AI is going to be a social marker, in the way that an inside bathroom vs shared outhouse did in late Victorian era.

Good news guys, Sonnet 4.5 would only be like $500 a month when the VC bucks dry up. Opus would only cost $3000-$15,000 bucks a month, unless you use Ralph and then it'll be way more. Keep in mind this is one instance. You all starting to see the problem yet?

@AdamRackis I’m finding Rust Rover hangs and needs restarting. Also each Jetbrains IDE I use (Python, Rust, Go, Webstorm) wants up to 4 GB each. Bit flaky, really. I think this might be the year I finally move to VSCode and cancel my pro subscription and save disk space and cash.

I spent an hour debugging why IntelliJ wasn't recognizing some imports that were valid.
Debugged for an hour with AI.
Senior Java engineer suggested I just restart the IDE and ... it worked.
