As an athlete, your biggest problem in games isn't making mistakes. It's your negative response to making mistakes. Once you learn to stay positive and resilient, you'll perform much better in games.

There’s an old Chinese saying that I love: “The temptation to quit will be greatest just before you are about to succeed.”

All athletes struggle with their confidence and motivation at times. Don't feel alone in your struggles, and don't lose hope. Many athletes have regained their mental strength, and so can you!

Real talk.

Stop being afraid of bad games. They're going to happen. What are you going to do about it? When you get out, ask yourself one question. Why. Why did I get out. Why was I late. Why did I chase that. You don't need to fix everything. You need to understand what happened. Then take that into your next training session. Not feelings. Not frustration. Not a whole new swing. One thing you understood. One correction. Go attack it. Understand why you got out. Make the correction. Catch barrel after barrel. That's the whole process. You're gonna have bad games. Every hitter on the planet does. The ones who figure it out aren't more talented. They just refuse to waste a bad at-bat. Understand. Correct. Compete. Every single day. Save this. Send this to a hitter who needs it.
