Northerner, doctor, life long Blackburn Rovers fan, 49ers since ‘84, losing faith in human decency. Be kind. Opinions entirely my own x

🇫🇷 looks like the politics of Trump, Farage, Orban, Putin, Le Pen, Bardella and the AfD took a bit of a beating … nothing like the results they were expecting. Vlad will be wondering why he bothered.

Top notch support from baggies as per usual. So tinpot from Blackburn though. A relegation six pointer & a massive game for the future of their club. Surely they should be trying to make home advantage count?? Not allowing us to have 7,000 fans get behind the away side 😅 🤷‍♂️ #WBA
West Bromwich Albion@WBA

Our initial 4,417 seat allocation for the trip to Blackburn Rovers on Easter Monday has sold out. The club are in dialogue with Blackburn regarding the opening of the upper tier, which contains a further 2,979 seats. Thank you for your outstanding support, Baggies! 🫶

@CharBirch_MFC Regardless of today’s result I’d love to see Millwall in the PL. it would make a blessed change. It’s just what the PL needs even if it doesn’t know it yet

Regardless of blatant cheating, We should, we need to be putting shit like Blackburn to bed, we’re 3rd in the league, yet they played us off the pitch, I have no doubt we go and get a result now on Saturday #millwall

This is by far the worst Rovers team in my lifetime. We know exactly where the blame rests. We will not bounce back and can expect years in the wilderness under this shower unless they fold the club. Desperate times indeed #Rovers

@FrustratedRover We’ve clearly both followed them for years but I said this in September/October. Relegation is inevitable now

@jonathanrog68 Yeah, I'm in my 61st year and can't think of a worse squad than this season's, but happy to have my memory jogged. We're going down with an inept whimper, and we'll be down there for a while. Last night's performance was utter garbage. I expect the same at Millwall.

BBC announcement From the BBC - Read by #JohnCleese. ANNOUNCEMENT The English are feeling the pinch in relation to recent terrorist threats and have therefore raised their security level from “Miffed” to “Peeved.” Soon, though, security levels may be raised yet again to “Irritated” or even “A Bit Cross.” The English have not been “A Bit Cross” since the Blitz in 1940, when tea supplies nearly ran out. Terrorists have been re-categorised from “Tiresome” to “A Bloody Nuisance.” The last time the British issued a “Bloody Nuisance” warning level was in 1588, when threatened by the Spanish Armada. The Scots have raised their threat level from “Pissed Off” to “Let’s get the Bastards.” They don’t have any other levels. This is the reason they have been used on the front line of the British army for the last 300 years. The French government announced yesterday that it has raised its terror alert level from “Run” to “Hide.” The only two higher levels in France are “Collaborate” and “Surrender.” The rise was precipitated by a recent fire that destroyed France‘s white flag factory, effectively paralysing the country’s military capability. Italy has increased the alert level from “Shout Loudly and Excitedly” to “Elaborate Military Posturing.” Two more levels remain: “Ineffective Combat Operations” and “Change Sides.” The Germans have increased their alert state from “Disdainful Arrogance” to “Dress in Uniform and Sing Marching Songs.” They also have two higher levels: “Invade a Neighbour” and “Lose.” Belgians, on the other hand, are all on holiday as usual; the only threat they are worried about is NATO pulling out of Brussels. The Spanish are all excited to see their new submarines ready to deploy. These beautifully designed subs have glass bottoms so the new Spanish navy can get a really good look at the old Spanish navy. Australia, meanwhile, has raised its security level from “No worries” to “She’ll be alright, Mate.” Three more escalation levels remain: “Crikey!” “I think we’ll need to cancel the barbie this weekend”, and “The barbie is cancelled.” So far, no situation has ever warranted the use of the final escalation level.

I can’t tell you just how profound a statement this is from the head of MI6 Blaise Metreweli. It is VERY uncommon for the head of the UK’s foreign intelligence agency to make such a public statement. There may now be a slow shift towards considering the US as representing a threat to UK national security if aligned with Russian interests. 🎥 TikTok - vm.tiktok.com/ZNRFGTJDj/

On the 18th June 1940, Winston Churchill gave his iconic ‘Finest Hour’ speech to Parliament. That evening at 9 PM, he reread it - almost word for word - in a public broadcast. If you listen carefully, you’ll hear when Churchill puffs on his cigar throughout. At the time, parliamentary speeches weren’t recorded. (National Sound Archive, ref. 2488-91, London.)

Just listened to the #BurBren game on BBC Lancs sport. I’ve never liked VAR, takes so much joy out of the game. From what I’ve heard the late “equaliser” chalked off for reasons known only to the VAR officials just emphasised the misery it brings to the game. Get rid.

"The Safety Dance" is a 1983 hit by a Canadian new wave band, written after the lead singer was kicked out of a club for pogo dancing. It protests bouncers stopping people from dancing freely. Do you know who they are?

We just bounce from pillar to post in a never ending cycle of embarrassment and damage to the clubs reputation. The majority of us recognise a death spiral when we see one. I’ve lost all hope for the future #Rovers
