@raghu_venugopal It won’t make the news because health authorities make it very difficult to cover the ER or hospital news. Happy to hear teamwork works.

The nurse grabbed an ER doc ASAP. Two other ER docs helped out. 3 specialists came right away. Many RNs and RTs descended. The outcome was good. This won't make the news but Canada's publicly funded health system works - even when we need to keep improving. It's not all bad.

Blows my mind that people would throw their life and career away for something like this. Absolutely idiotic.

@JeromyYYC The problem is people are parking there and then going to work. Two or 3 hour parking would allow actual park users to use the park.

1/ Edworthy Park is one of Calgary’s treasures—a place for river walks, bike rides, and family picnics. It’s what public space is supposed to be: connection, community, and access for everyone. Now the City wants to introduce paid parking. 🧵 #yyccc #yycbike

Barnard and Columbia issued interim suspensions to four student journalists who covered a Wednesday pro-Palestinian protest in Butler Library, according to emails obtained by Spectator. Columbia lifted its suspension, but the Barnard suspensions remain. columbiaspectator.com/news/2025/05/0…

As of today, it is illegal in Quebec for payment terminals to calculate tips on amounts that include sales taxes. Tips must now be applied to the pre-tax total. Restaurant operators are also required to clearly display the full bill, including the tip. Hallelujah.

The @cityofcalgary urgently needs to start an education/enforcement campaign on pathway legal bikes. Seeing almost daily close calls with motorbikes. If you feel you need a full-face motorbike helmet to ride it - it does not belong on the paths. #yycbike #yyccc

😡 My 20-year-old son (who turns 21 next month) was driving home to Indiana from Florida today—a grueling 19-hour trip. But guess what? Not a single @Marriott or @HiltonHotels in northern Florida or Georgia along I-75 would let him check in to sleep for the night. Even though I offered to prepay with my credit card, they all refused, citing “company policy” that prohibits anyone under 21 from checking in without an "adult." I have some serious questions: 1. How is it that you can pay taxes and even go to war at 18, yet Marriott and Hilton don’t consider you old enough to check into a hotel room with a guaranteed credit card? 2. Isn’t this age discrimination? What if they told a 90-year-old they were too old to check into a hotel alone? 3. Is it really reasonable to force a 20-year-old to sleep in his car on the side of the road or drive all night? Am I supposed to fly to Florida and drive home with my son—who is old enough to fight for his country—just to keep him - and others on the road- safe? What am I missing here? 🤔

@KRose5996 @WillyGrant Those patriarchal days are gone. I can google pub med and educate myself like anyone else. My records allow me time to prep for the visit with the professionals.

Having access to my medical test results through MyHealth Alberta is possibly the worst thing for me. I get results before I talk to a doctor, so I google it. According to the x-rays of my chest area, I have linear scarring and atelectasis of my left lung's lingula and base.

@alandrummond2 I think the show needs more sympathy for all those people jammed in the waiting room. Make it real and show somebody actually dying there.

@Ken_Campbell27 Try getting the Montréal Canadiens games in the west. I received a small treatise from describing each streaming package, but how there wasn’t one that would necessarily give us all games.

At the risk of sounding like a cranky old man, I pay for a cable package that includes Rogers Sportsnet and TSN and I also pay for the Centre Ice Package. My subscription doesn't include Sportsnet 360, so I don't get today's Wash-NYI game. That's dumb.

Green Shirt Day

🕊️ April 6, 2025 – Honouring the Humboldt Broncos, 7 Years Later 💚💛 Today, we pause to remember the 16 lives lost and the 13 lives forever changed in the Humboldt Broncos bus crash on April 6, 2018. Seven years later, the pain of that day is still felt deeply across Canada and beyond. But so too is the powerful legacy of Logan Boulet and the incredible ripple effect of his decision to register as an organ donor. His selfless act inspired over 150,000 Canadians to follow his lead — a movement now known as the Logan Boulet Effect. 💚 On this solemn anniversary, Green Shirt Day stands with the families, teammates, first responders, and all who continue to carry this loss in their hearts. 💚 We honour the memory of the Broncos by continuing to share their story and encourage organ donor registration across the country. 💚 Let us continue to turn tragedy into hope — one green shirt, one conversation, one donor registration at a time. 📅 Green Shirt Day is tomorrow — April 7. Wear green to honour Logan, the Broncos, and to inspire organ donor awareness and registration. Together, we can make a difference. #GreenShirtDay #LoganBouletEffect #HumboldtBroncos #OrganDonation #HumboldtStrong #April6 #RememberTheBroncos

I’d love your help. Volunteer, donate, or just spread the word. Calgary-Confederation is the definition of a swing riding. In one recent election, it was decided by <2%. We expect this one to be very close too. I’d be grateful for the support. (9/X) secure.liberal.ca/eda/48005

👋Some news! I’m running for Mark Carney's Liberals in Calgary-Confederation. I live here, work here, raise my kids here. I want to offer representation that understands the economy and the public interest & be an Alberta voice standing up for Canada at a challenging time. 🧵1/
