@SirohiBhawna If most are pausing treatment and it's possible to provide support to some, then if the latter is provided by random draw, then one can measure the effect of the pause. If the result is counterintuitive then we stop worrying; if not the advice and support can be more precise.

16/ When you hear, "the CDC's Epidemic Intelligence Service class was cancelled and the officers fired" I hope this gives you a sense of what has been lost. Not just the outbreaks that can't be investigated, the surge capacity gone, but our future public health leadership lost

@bmj_latest Ultimate hypofractionation: TARGIT-IORT during lumpectomy for breast cancer is effective, reduces non-breast-cancer deaths, improves overall survival in for grade 1 or 2 cancers, and would save 5 million miles of travel, & 1200 tonnes of CO2 in the UK/yr bmj.com/content/386/bm…

UK patients with breast cancer perceive even 5-day post-op radiotherapy as being greatly disruptive. They prefer receiving TARGIT-IORT while they are asleep during surgery - it gives them the feeling of stamping out the cancer without conscious awareness bmjopen.bmj.com/content/14/8/e…

Can you see why there is no good will left in the NHS. We do 12h shifts 7 days a week. Is it too much to ask for hot food on the weekends?

An anecdote of an interaction with a patient that has stayed with me for 15 years. When I was a fresh-faced 2nd year doctor in a GP practice, a young lady came for an appointment. She couldn’t have been more than 5 years older than me. The reason was ‘work stress’ A long 🧵
