@Mio_nee so students (and professors!) often debate which approach is more useful and helpful for translation and better to make the original meaning of the text clear in the receiving language 😊

In italy when we study ancient greek there are two main dictionaries to choose from: the GI and the Rocci.
GI is more modern and very minimalist and literal and academic
Rocci is older and more poetic and has a lot of examples on how the words are used!

@motoakihara ma ci credo! ero solo sorpresa, non ci avevo mai pensato- si passa tanto tempo a parlare del greco come base della cultura occidentale...boh forse pensavo che ci fosse un'altra lingua equivalente in altre parti del mondo o che non interessasse proprio. me ne compiaccio comunque😊

In Giappone, gli studi di filologia classica occidentale sono di livello piuttosto elevato e il numero dei ricercatori è consistente. Sono anche più numerosi rispetto agli studiosi di letteratura italiana.
