can someone pls explain to me in layman’s terms how venues can charge 20% commish to bands selling merch who have their own merch person and card machine but the bands don’t get 20% of food and drinks from the venue they have filled with their fans? Am I missing something?

That process stays with you for life. So the real question is: why make your body spend energy and resources forever on something that doesn’t naturally belong there? We’re born the way we are for a reason. As we age, our biological resources become more valuable. One day, your body will need every bit of strength to maintain health and longevity. Why waste part of that capacity on maintaining artificial changes?
Just something to seriously think about before making a permanent decision.
