After 24 hours, St. Peter arrives and asks the politician where he would like to spend eternity, heaven or hell. The politician excitedly tells St. Peter about his day in hell and how it wasn’t so bad and that he prefers to go back there. So, down, down, down he goes and when the doors to hell open, it is stifling hot, and all of his friends are wearing rags, sweating horribly, and picking up the smelly garbage in the smoke-filled room as more garbage keeps falling from above. The devil strolls over and throws an arm around his shoulders. “What’s going on?!” demands the politician. “Yesterday, this place had beautiful golf courses, champagne, steak and lobster, and everyone was dressed in suits and tuxedos!
