The Valencia Burrito Plan (@burritojustice) was just analyzed by @SFMTA_Muni. They say it isn't feasible because it violates the SFFD's arbitrary 26' clearance rule. And it would take 3 - 5 years to implement. To which I say: do you know how many years we've been waiting?!

Sue Diamond: "We are a city where every resident values the small neighborhood they live in. . . I think we should avoid doing anything that recreates Mission Bay on the west side."

Preston is criticizing Scott Wiener saying advocates asked, "Why don't you just do a streamlining bill for affordable housing?" That wouldn't pass. Real estate interests have captured Sacramento and their goal (and Wiener's goal) is "to deregulate market-rate housing."

TLDR: The Planning Dept says the housing element is fine. The Board of Supervisors says the plan is compliant. Big questions go unanswered: • Why is the city refusing to apply feedback from @California_HCD? • What proof does Planning have that the policy changes will work?

Oh wow. Dorsey says he's going to introduce legislation to remove some of the constraints identified in the housing element, and to create Housing Sustainability Districts like the housing element specifies!
