This is the IQ 151, a Czechoslovak 8-bit computer from the mid-1980s, made by ZPA Novy Bor. It was mainly used in schools and other institutions rather than as a typical home computer. Fun fact: This machine was modular, and you had to add different expansion modules to make it fully useful. The base machine was pretty minimal "out of the box". The mainboard only contained the CPU, supporting ICs, and memory. This looks like it's incredibly heavy. How hot do you think this ran? #RetroTech #ComputerHistory #VintageComputing

Novináři to hodně řešili. No krása ne? A novináři drží hubu.

Give A Shit About Nature

Vultures eat anthrax, botulism, rabies, and cholera for breakfast. Their stomach acid is among the most corrosive in the animal kingdom, with a pH around 1, low enough to dissolve the bones, hide, and pathogens of dead animals that would kill almost anything else. A vulture eating a diseased carcass isn't a vector for disease, it's a terminus. The disease chain ends in the vulture's gut, and that's pretty hardcore. When vulture populations crashed in India in the 1990s, rotting livestock carcasses sat where vultures used to clean them. Feral dogs and rats took over the cleanup, both of which actually do spread rabies. Researchers later linked the vulture collapse to roughly 500,000 deaths in India over the following decade. The same collapse is now underway in sub-Saharan Africa. Six of eleven African vulture species are threatened with extinction, primarily from poisoned poaching baits. The animals nobody finds cute are doing more public health work than most of the species we actively protect.

The U.S. is in a strategic catastrophe! The UAE, Kuwait, and Qatar, together with China, have begun negotiations with Iran, with China taking the lead. And Trump has announced that he is stepping aside. This means the dollar is screwed. China, as a mediator, will demand that the yuan become the currency for oil trade, and we can bury the dollar and declare a U.S. default in 15 years. )) It only seems like that’s far away. Just one incompetent person with six bankruptcies behind him managed to bring such a country to its knees in one year. (( Applause to those who voted for him!!!

⚡️The Anatomy of a Narcissistic Psychopath⚡️ The Key Traits👇 🔸Mask of Sanity: Disarms victims with superficial charm, wit, and high-level charisma. 🔸Zero Empathy: Views people as tools or "objects" to be used and discarded. 🔸Pathological Gaslighting: Rewrites reality and lies effortlessly to keep others off-balance. 🔸Grandiosity: An unshakable belief in their own superiority and entitlement to power. 🔸Zero Remorse: Inflicts harm without guilt; often blames the victim for being "weak." 🔸Sadistic Control: Derives genuine pleasure from crushing rivals and total dominance. 🔸Deflection: Never accepts blame. Oleksandr Yakovenko, the founder of TAF Industries, one of Ukraine's largest drone makers wrote a good response to @RheinmetallAG's Papperger's irritating statement. I used AI to translate it for you. It is worth reading in full. "Dear Mr. Armin Papperger, CEO of Rheinmetall, When you called Ukrainian drone manufacturers “Ukrainian housewives with 3D printers in their kitchens,” you demonstrated how deeply the European defense establishment still fails to understand the nature of modern warfare. This is not about emоtions. This is about battlefield reality. Here are the figures your industry refuses to acknowledge: In 2025 alone, Ukrainian drones carried out 819,737 confirmed strikes. They accounted for 90% of all combat losses of the Russian army—more than all other types of weapons combined. A single company, TAF Industries, produces up to 100,000 FPV drones per month. Over any given 90-day period, the products of my company alone have more confirmed hits than your entire fleet of equipment over its entire history of combat use across all conflicts. And most importantly—I built this company and achieved these results in two years, not fifty. Think about that. Our drones achieve greater kinetic effect in three months than your flagship platforms have in half a century. Why? Because the battlefield has changed, while your business model has not. Russian electronic warfare has rendered GPS-guided Western munitions (Excalibur, GMLRS, etc.) almost ineffective. Expensive and complex systems designed for wars with air superiority and conventional “peer-on-peer” conflict have become easy targets for drones costing $500–2,000 that attack them from above. The cost-effectiveness ratio has been turned upside down: one 120mm Rheinmetall shell or one anti-tank missile costs more than a dozen of our drones—yet our drones still prevail. This is not a “Lego game.” This is industrial Darwinism in real time. We iterate weekly. We lose factories to missile strikes and rebuild them within weeks. We print parts in basements and deploy 100,000 strike systems per month, while your engineers still require 3–5 years and hundreds of millions of euros to certify even minor upgrades. The war in Ukraine is not a temporary anomaly. It is the first true drone-industrial war. And it has already proven that outdated European platforms—no matter how expensive or “serious”—are becoming increasingly irrelevant if they do not integrate the very technologies you are mocking. So when you say “this is not innovation,” I hear something else: “We do not want to admit that the future is being written in Ukrainian workshops, not in Düsseldorf offices.” The hashtag #MadeByHousewives is trending for a reason. Because these “housewives” destroy more enemy equipment every month than entire European armies do over full campaigns. And they do so while your industry continues to sell 20th-century solutions at 21st-century prices. The invitation stands, Mr. Papperger. Stop laughing at the kitchen table. Come and learn how the war of tomorrow is actually fought. Because the next time someone asks, “Who needs tanks in the age of drones?”, the answer may be simpler than you think: Those who still believe in 1979 will lose to those who are building in 2026. With respect (but with facts), Oleksandr Yakovenko Founder of TAF Industries One of those “Ukrainian housewives”" pravda.com.ua/columns/2026/0…

Ekologické okénko. Miluju tyhle stroje.

This is incredible. This machine is capable of cleaning up 100 million kg of plastic ocean waste, and as of 2025, it has already collected about 500,000 kg of plastic. It aims to remove 90% of ocean plastic by 2040.

BREAKING: China is pressuring Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. There is one problem. Iran did not close it. Seven insurance companies in London did. China buys 80% of Iran’s shipped oil. Beijing has a $400 billion, 25-year cooperation agreement with Tehran. China is Iran’s economic lifeline. If any country on earth has leverage over Iran, it is China. And China is now using that leverage to demand the Strait reopens. But the Strait was not closed by a sovereign decision. It was closed by the withdrawal of reinsurance capacity from five to ten firms, mostly in London, backstopping twelve P&I clubs that cover 90% of global tonnage. Iran did not order those firms to withdraw. Iran cannot order them to reinstate. Neither can China. Even if Tehran capitulates entirely tonight and the IRGC stands down, not a single reinsurer reinstates Gulf war risk coverage on a phone call from Beijing. Reinstatement requires rebuilt risk models, voyage-by-voyage re-underwriting, repriced treaty capacity, and a threat environment that actuaries can quantify. None of that exists while 440.9 kilograms of weapons-grade uranium remains unaccounted for and the IRGC is still launching drones at Oman. China has leverage over Iran. China has zero leverage over Lloyd’s of London. This is the part nobody is modelling. The country with the most to lose and the most leverage over the belligerent cannot fix the mechanism that actually closed the Strait. Because the mechanism is not geopolitical. It is actuarial. And actuaries do not take calls from the Politburo. open.substack.com/pub/shanakaans…
