@TosinOlugbenga For me, all my sql tables have constraints writing on the database level. Even if you somehow get access to the db and try to edit directly on the db by entering data, once it’s not what is supposed to go in, it fails.

A skilled SQL engineer can build almost an entire backend inside the DB. That’s why some backend engineers see application code as merely a transport layer. PostgreSQL alone is practically an application platform now. When you build your logics in the DB, you are optimizing for: 1. data integrity 2. transactional consistency 3. performance 4. security This approach is good for banking and financial applications.

I'm currently implementing a Maker-Checker system for a financing engine, and logging is non-negotiable. In this architecture, I don't just log 'updates'; my model logs the intent. Whenever a 'Maker' modifies a sensitive rate or a loan plan, that change is staged in an approval queue rather than hitting the live table. The 'Checker' then sees a full diff of exactly what was changed vs. what currently exists. The logs capture the IDs of both parties, the exact payload, the timestamp, and even the IP/device metadata. This allows me to verify that a sensitive rate change came from a known authorised session and not a hijacked one. In this setup, the audit log isn’t just a side 'nice-to-have'; In fintech, your logs are essentially your 'Black Box' flight recorder.

FINTECH TIPS If you’re building a fintech app, logging is not optional it’s a core security feature. One of the strongest fraud detection mechanisms is detailed activity logging for your back-office admins. Track everything: • Login and logout activity • Failed login attempts • Password resets • User creation and role changes • Data updates, deletions, and new records • Payment approvals or reversals • Account status changes • Permission changes • Sensitive data access You should always know: Who did it What was changed When it happened From where (IP/device/location if needed) Without proper audit trails, fraud investigations become guesswork. Good logging protects your customers, your business, and your compliance posture. In fintech, if it’s not logged, it didn’t happen.

Correct mentality. Which is why I keep saying we need politicians in Alaigbo that are Igbo first, that approach politics with that mindset. If they have this mindset, collaboration irrespective of party will not be hard. Reaching consensus on collective group issues will not be hard, because they’ll know the hierarchy of importance. I can’t imagine being a politician holding a position in the East and working against the interest of Alaigbo because it favors my party. I’ll always be an Igbo woman first.
