Wow. This is horrible news for all Canadians. The federal Liberal government has just announced that debt servicing charges are expected to increase by more than 30% to $80 billion PER YEAR by 2030. That's $80 billion in taxpayer money (your money) that can’t go toward hospitals, schools or roads - but is instead being wasted on interest payments to Bay Street. This comes as the government is planning to add another $60 billion to the debt this year, and has no plans to reduce borrowing in the years ahead. If we keep wasting such an insane amount of money on interest payments, soon there won't be any money left to provide for the important and essential government programs on which we all rely!
