The iMac has pretty much been decommissioned after I bought a cheap Dell laptop (£300) that outperforms it by ~30% (with an NVME SSD and 32GB)

It’s time to replace my 2017 5K iMac Not a great fan of the non-upgradable new generation of M1/M2 Macs, so looking at Ryzen 5900HX mini PCs (eg instead of Mac Mini) I can build a beast if a machine with 64GB RAM (that’s faster than an M1 Max) for ~£1K Yes or no? 🤔

@davesingleton_ S2000 won’t depreciate much (if at all). Market is flooded with MX5s, so pretty confident it will I also like the idea of adding value to an S2000… so will probably be on the lookout for one of those 😊

So… one of the car leases is ending in the next 6 months (SWMBO’s Ioniq) - thinking of replacing it with a 2 seater convertible Candidates seem to be S2000(GT) or MX5 (RF) Which would you pick, and why? 🤔

@anon_opin Elite was genuinely the last game I actually put concerted effort into, so agree with this 👍 The reason I bought an Amiga was because it had a slightly improved version of Elite 😊

Elite on the BBC micro was the best computer game of all time. Nothing else comes close.

@anon_opin In a fully electric car, it’s awesome though - with lane assist too, the car almost drives itself on the motorway 😊

@anon_opin ACC in a car that’s not fully electric is not the best, tbh. Several times in my (petrol) car I’ve had to emergency dip the clutch and change gears to stop it stalling when it’s slowed down a little too much (normally when the radar has shat it’s pants at nothing)

Adaptive cruise control is the worst thing about modern cars. Cause far too much unnecessary braking. And the lazy middle-lane wankers become even worse. Fact.
