Premature babies with bronchopulmonary dysplasia show enlarged airspaces and vascular damage. @lvilaMD @sucre_jen & team @NUFeinbergMed investigate endothelial injury in a mouse model of neonatal hyperoxia, revealing a key role for p53 in maintaining endothelial cell identity during repair: insight.jci.org/articles/view/… The image shows capillaries consisting of Cap1 (orange) and Cap2 (cyan) endothelial cells in hyperoxia.

Yesterday, I got this from NHLBI terminating my MOSAIC K99/ROO. I am appealing this decision but have very little hope that it will change anything. For perspective, the grant they terminated is on the mechanisms behind endothelial cell specification in the lungs
