1979 ……. The media are pushing for a change in the ⁦@England⁩ goal but ⁦@RayClem1⁩ reacts by producing one of the best saves of his career …. Pure class from the @LFC number 1

@CLEMENCEOFENGL1 Ive said many many times that's the greatest save of all time. Every inch of his body stretched. Imagine Shilton trying that?

We all know the great ⁦@RayClem1⁩ liked a penalty save! Here is playing for @England⁩ saving from Dani of Spain in the 1980 European Championships in Naples. Whether it be for @LFC@SpursOfficial⁩ or ⁦@England⁩ Clem made some brilliant saves from the spot 🙌🏼

@johnsimmonds13 Absolutely 100%. The greatest goalie I ever saw also. Class with a capital C. Worlds best from 74 to 82 IMO. Crime against Football ⚽️ that he never played in a world Cup finals

Villa Park 1978 …. @LFC goalkeeper @RayClem1 eventually sees the funny side of things with the help of team mates Terry McDermott and Emlyn Hughes 😂 Summed up perfectly the camaraderie of that great team of late 70’s

@centredevils Kobie should be playing. He's a brilliant player but obviously doesn't fit manager's ideas. Amorin is not convincing mw tbh. .Kobie is a world class talent and Amorin isn't a world class manager

🚨🚨🎙️| Rúben Amorim asked if Kobbie Mainoo is going to get a chance to prove his worth before the January transfer window: “We'll see. We could talk about Kobbie. We could talk about [Manuel] Ugarte, he's also not playing. Josh is playing because we had a lot of injuries and we need to be also clear with that. And football is like that. “You just need to be ready when the opportunity comes. When the opportunity comes, again, I just want to win. I don't look at faces. I just want to win, and I will choose the best ones. And, of course, I think when you have more games, if something happens, you will have your chance. “You just need to be ready, and you will be fine. If you are ready, if you play well, I'm not going to take it [away] from the team for any reason. I just choose for every game, the best starting XI and Kobbie is the same thing with the other guys.”

@CLEMENCEOFENGL1 @RayClem1 @SpursOfficial @LFC Thats why he was so great. One save every 2 matches with Liverpool made. Shilton 10 shots per match diving around like a child. But at Spurs he showed the world his true brilliance with his saves. Quite simply the greatest goalie of all time

April 1987 ….. @RayClem1 in action for @SpursOfficial v Watford in the FA Cup semi final. Although approaching his 40th Birthday the steely concentration remains the same! At @LFC the saves he made late on to preserve a narrow lead were so vital to the glory years of the 1970’s

@CLEMENCEOFENGL1 @RayClem1 @LFC @England A testament to the man . He realised in the dressing room after the game his edge was gone. He needed a new challenge. So instead of staying at 85% ( which by the way was still 30% better than most ) he channelled him at Spurs. Walking away on 3/4 leagues and European Cups

18th June 1980 …Making what would turn out to be his final major international tournament appearance @LFC ‘s @RayClem1 saves a penalty for @England from Dani of Spain in the Euro 80’ tournament in Italy. Personally I think it’s a travesty the great man was so shoddily treated!

@CLEMENCEOFENGL1 @RayClem1 @England @LFC Remember that day well,, I was 12 . The crime against football had begun with Greenwood incapable of upsetting Shilton and the British media. Shilton got the 2nd game and Clem the 3rd. Ray was unquestionably World No1 that era . 61 Caps. Sweet Jesus a crime against football.

Thursday 12th June 1980 is a date the great @RayClem1 would never forget. His 50th @England cap first appearance in a major international tournament and temporarily led off the field suffering from the effects of Tear Gas. Certainly an eventful day for the @LFC man. 45 years ago!

@deisefearr @DLynchSport He is and most definitely the next great Clare goalkeeper. But that's post Eibher,, not now. Really and truly it's coaching, set up and structure that needs addressing not the Goalkeeper's. Stone age mentality is long gone..
