We are building block by block the Pastoralist Livestock Cooperative model to serve communities in Arid and Semi-Arids Lands; communities that have hitherto been underrepresented in the vibrant cooperative sector in Kenya. Today, I hosted the National Livestock Development and Promotion Services (NLDPS) at @CoopVarsityKE to discuss the next steps. The team from NLDPS was led by the Chairperson of the Board, Hon. Mohamed Ibrahim Elmi, who outlined the vision and expectations of the livestock development agenda and the need for structured cooperative systems. The CEO of NLDPS, Richard Kyuma , commended the University for its contribution to Kenya’s co-operative sector. Prof. Wycliffe Oboka outlined CUK’s capacity-building strategy under the National Livestock Co-operative Development Initiative (NLCDI), while Kennedy Waweru presented a proposed digital database solution to enhance data management, traceability, monitoring, and coordination within livestock cooperatives. Today I was tagged to a video of a confident Kenyan woman confronting a leader in public and calling out his lies. When she said, "wewe mheshimiwa, wacha kudanganya wamama", she spoke for millions. This is the spirit Kenya needs. Power survives on silence, not numbers. The biggest problem in our politics is not a lack of intelligence; it is unchecked lies. When leaders know they can lie without being challenged, they will. When they know the people are alert, they stop. Don’t attend political gatherings as spectators. Attend them as citizens. Point out lies, right there. This video gives me hope. A better Kenya begins when fear ends.

Through these engagements we co-create solutions to support a just transition to sustainable economies. We seek to transform agricultural and mining industries, heavily reliant on greenhouse (GHG) gas-intensive practices, into leaders of a sustainable bio-circular economies. BioFairNet will facilitate through digital cooperative networks transition towards sustainability by identifying critical hotspots and optimizing value chains.
