@PaulFiore But it’s not a binary choice. We have multiple first round picks in 2027 that we could use to trade up if necessary. So, yes, try to “win now”. That’s the game.

Question for #Jets fans. Would you prefer a QB like Kyler or Mac Jones that could win 7 games next yr, save AGs job and have us picking in the 10 to 15 range for the 27 draft or a lower tier guy that falters and we lock in a top 5 pick with a path to a franchise QB? Honest ?

@PaulFiore Jets in danger of alienating fan base to the point where many will walk away. By design & incompetence, they’re choosing to be uncompetitive almost every season. Making a back-up starter in ‘26 - when you have 2 first round picks - just says “write off 2026”. What a waste. Again.

@PaulFiore Then if you go with a back-up as starter, like Mariota, it’s pretty much guaranteed Glenn will not be HC in 2027. So, serious question, why give him so many 1st/2nd rounders in 2026? None of this fits. If idea is to take a key QB in ‘27, bring in the HC who will lead that team.

@PaulFiore Have to decide if they think Simpson, Chambliss etc are viable long-term QB1s who could learn behind a short-term starter. Or trade for somebody like Burrow etc. Jets must adopt a “win now” attitude - constant rebuilds/projects haven’t worked & don’t keep HCs in jobs

@PaulFiore If they start 2026 season with Mariota and win, say, 5 or 6 games, then Glenn won’t be there in 2027. His job is on the line after such a poor first season. He needs a QB who can make them competitive now. Or he needs an exciting rookie favs can rally behind.

@PaulFiore Glenn can’t afford to go into next season with a Mariota or Minshew as QB1, unless he/Mougey are sold on a rookie QB2 like Simpson or Chambliss. If AG has no “future” QB then he’ll be out of a job after another blunt season. Gut feeling: Jets will trade big. Burrow, perhaps?

@Playlikeajet1 Agree. But that means ensuring you have the right HC, OC and QB coach. Charles London, the current QB coach, cannot develop quarterbacks. He hadn’t even coached one in the NFL until 2021. The Jets have to appoint a QB coach or OC that Mendoza or Moore WANT to play for.

#Jets were in this position before.
Loaded with draft capital in 21/22.
But despite most of those picks being good, the regime sunk bc they got the QB wrong.
Whatever else they do, AG & Mougey can’t panic draft a QB. Whoever they pick, he must succeed or everybody fails.

@meolscop1978 The club is coming under a lot of pressure to reduce the number of tourists, though. It’s not helping with the atmosphere inside a poor stadium for football. Of course, they should just reduce ticket prices further and prioritise local fans.

@NYJetsTFMedia If Glenn wasn’t so well-respected as a former Jets player, there would be no argument: he’d be out as HC. He has shown nothing - at all - this season that says he’s a winning head coach. Pathetic offense, dire defense, poor coaching. He has three weeks to save his job, IMHO.

@NYJetsTFMedia Surely we’re way beyond “just” letting Wilks go. The big Q now is: is Glenn one and done in New York? There has been absolutely no improvement on this team, at all, this season. It’s getting worse by the week. Glenn needs to articulate a reason why he should come back.
