@James_Athletics James looking at say top 30 or 40 at Liverpool is it also the strongest race in terms of depth of UK distance runners ? Seems far more than any road or track race .

This is interesting food for thought. XC is clearly popular at club level - 2216 people ran at the last Surrey League fixture for example. But, outside of club runners (a small % of those who run), is XC relatable? How many run just because their club pay? Is it marketable?

Over 1000 people competed in the senior men's and U23 races at this past weekend's Liverpool Cross Challenge. I genuinely believe that cross country is one of the most under-appreciated elements of athletics. It's relatable and also takes some of the technology advances in T&F + road running out of the equation.
