Rocking out to the @thirdday "Live from the Farewell Tour" album that just launched today on streaming.
I actually got to go to the show in Dallas, TX and it was amazing.
@marklee3d's guitar tone is legendary as always.

26 years ago today, we lost #RichMullins, one of the most influential artists in CCM history.
In 2017, we were joined by @macpowell & @marklee3d of @thirdday, Kevin Max, @AgnewsDei and @mmcvmusic to talk about Rich and his influence.

@JBay_AllTheWay @newsboys That’s a great list! Love, Liberty, Disco is my favorite. Not Ashamed also has a special place in my heart as that was the first record of theirs I heard.

@EdgeEdgeway @grantmcauley Not intentionally funny but just the very predictable “With Fried coming back, the rotation is getting an upgrade as if they had made a trade.”
English

@marklee3d @grantmcauley Oh, you went humor. LOL. I went substance. 😁

#Braves LHP Max Fried just completed a bullpen session. He could return to the Atlanta rotation as soon as Friday.
English

@EdgeEdgeway @grantmcauley Yes, them too, but Chip was the one that cracked me up with it the most.
English

@marklee3d @grantmcauley I think you mean Joe Simpson/Don Sutton.

What was true 10 years ago is even truer now: You have to run your own show. Make your own niche. Build your audience one by one. Connect with others doing work you admire. Do the work with your own hands. Don’t wait on somebody else to help you.

What can I say? We were huge fans of Rattle and Hum 🤷♂️

@jwsherrod @thirdday Spot on: “Structurally this album is a little odd. It’s part studio, part live. And about half of the content doesn’t fit neatly into what you’d think of as Worship (as in the genre) music, and some of it even feels like a live “greatest hits” album.”
English

@Ineverglow Sleazy movie soundtrack aside, this is a surprisingly well-crafted track. The two voices trade off to create a nice tension, and the vocal melody is catchy. While the techno dance beats aren’t quite club worthy, they should see some heavy playing time at an H&M near you.

@marklee3d What I loved most about Third Day was that they just wrote out of their collective heart - and from THAT sprang worship-filled music. (ex. Praise Song from their major label debut.) They didn't necessarily set out to make songs that were labeled "worship" or jump on the bandwagon
English

Thanks for the mention, Eric. Yes, we were always uncomfortable with the worship label. Worship was always a big part of what we did as a band, but we never wanted to put out a record to cash in on a trend.
Eric McClanahan@Ineverglow
And I want to shoutout Third Day here. They kept putting out rock albums after the worship albums were a hit. I’m sure they didn’t have to do that.
