I think we need to have some perspective on where we are. Spent next to nothing in the summer and jan and we are competing with teams who have a bottomless pit. Yes tonight was shite but we are still in there….. stick by the lads and hopefully success will follow #UTV #AVFC

Question for #avfc fans, as I'm genuinely curious, what do you want more this season, silverware or CL qualification? Of course, I'm aware winning the Europa League achieves both. But let's pretend for this exercise it is either/or. Which would it be? Feel free to share reasons.

What a mad, mad game that was 🤯 Honest review - 11 v 11 Newcastle offered nothing to be fair, Villa were the better team. Tammy was offside. ⚽️ Digne should have had a red for the challenge on Murphy (was high & dangerous). ❌ 2 possible pens for Newcastle in 1st half but the 1st one wasn’t for me as Onana won the ball. 👀 2nd one possibly a pen but I’m not 100%. Digne with the handball - No words for that one! What the lino was doing in this game is beyond me 🤯 Shocker of a performance! 😬 Bizot, Bizot, Bizot what were you thinking pal, moment of madness, was a red card I’m afraid, can’t be doing that fella! 🤦🏻‍♂️ From that point the game changed for us. We had some minor moments but it swung in Newcastles favour in the end. Tonali not scored for ages and hits 2 bangers (one deflection) has he been watching us train 🤣 Anyway, for Villa it’s less games now and we are still 3rd with a good points gap, still going well in the UEL. McGinn & Tielemans are another week closer to returning 🤩 Tammy is looking good up top 👍🏼 All the best to Newcastle ⚪️🌑 Stay positive Villans we have a lot still to play for 🟣🔵 #AVFC #NUFC #UTV

FIFA president Gianni Infantino has claimed that World Cup ticket revenue is necessary for sustaining football in 150 countries. The sport’s governing body has faced heavy criticism after ticket prices for the 2026 tournament were revealed, which are the most expensive in World Cup history. At the World Sports Summit in Dubai on Monday, Infantino spoke publicly for the first time since those ticket prices were announced. “What’s crucial is that the revenues that are generated from this are going back to the game all over the world,” said the 55-year-old. “Without FIFA, there would be no football in 150 countries in the world. 11 tournaments in a row, a week before the draw, topped with hotels at £400 a night in host cities, I think this might be me bowing out. For me to get the cheapest CAT ticket that 2 years of matches has earnt me, will still cost me £5000 before a hotel or flight is booked.
