More City Builder 🏙️ Progress: I added some (very temporary) meshes to easier see how this fits together. That is about 20 of 82, modelling out all the weird edge-cases will take a while ;) #MadeWithUnity #IndieDev #gamedev #procGen

the thing that gets people on transit isn’t free fares it’s not having to check a schedule. a bus that costs $2 and comes every 6 minutes will outperform a free bus that comes every 30 minutes every single time. frequency is the product. the fare is a rounding error

@joshdholtz I do miss the chunkyness, slamming it in. Already lost it with fiddly, sensitive CDs. Usb-sticks are somewhat better, but not really there

Lately I've been tinkering with some animations for a new game. Essentially its a mix of 2048 and a roguelike. Control the movement with WASD or swipe with your pointer. Those who are more familiar with animation/motion design, I'd love your feedback! slide-and-sorcery.pages.dev

I helped with the Japanese translation for Oeuf (a new game by increpare) You are an egg and try to get back home. Its a bit hard, but there's a sense of achievement when reaching a checkpoint :)

We're in a weird period right now. - Juniors can't get hired because "we need experience." - Seniors are getting laid off because "AI can do it cheaper." - Mid-levels are doing the work of 3 people. And somehow every company is still "struggling to find talent."

My favourite LEGO designer detail: to reduce manufacturing complexity, LEGO limits amount of new pieces that an employee can make. To enforce this policy, LEGO has an internal currency called “frames” that designers have to spend for new pieces or colors. Since “frames” are a scarce resource, designers try to find creative ways to use old pieces or they will pool their “frames” with other designers and aim to make new pieces that can be used across many new sets. At its peak — and during a near bankruptcy crisis — LEGO made 12,000 different parts at its peak but got too confusing. It’s down to ~7,000 now. *** More details on “frames” from The Verge: theverge.com/c/23991049/leg…
