This is exactly why movements like StopKillingGames took off. When anything and everything is digitized, unless you have offline services, companies will do this . They can't sell you new things if your old thing works as intended. So the only choice is to brick your device.

This is A NIGHTMARE. Amazon is bricking old Kindles, including my beloved Kindle 5 (with the side buttons). I hate the touch screen versions, I've tried them and I'm always accidentally flipping pages.

Gen Z is going to the theater, buying vinyl, CDs, and DVDs. Yet the generation who grew up doing the same things have turned there back on all this. Call me crazy, but I'm with Gen Z on this.
