On Tuesday, a group of our Y5 pupils enjoyed an exciting visit to Ilkley Grammar School, where they took part in a special maths afternoon. The children tackled a range of fun and challenging activities designed to stretch their thinking and problem‑solving skills.

This week our Y4 pupils took part in 'Soup Day' as part of our Design Technology unit. The children had to design and make a soup using seasonal ingredients, as well as create marketing posters and can art.

We made some lovely spring pictures by stamping with green paint to make grass and creating sheep relief pictures. We loved making Easter cards for our last art club of this term. 🎨

Science week has started with a bang this morning with an exciting Science Fair! Parents and staff generously volunteered to lead sessions on weather, astronomy, climate change, human biology and more—thank you to everyone who shared their time and expertise.

A huge well done to our pupils, Charlotte and Isobel, who competed in the West Yorkshire Cross Country Final yesterday. They both ran a brilliant race!👟

Children were enthused and motivated in welcoming our visiting author, Jason Beresford, to MPS. Jason delivered interactive assemblies and workshops to every year group in school. What a lot of fun was had by all!

A huge thank you to all the families who baked, bought, and donated cakes, and to everyone who came along to support our Founders Day cake sale. Thanks to your generosity, we raised a fantastic £589 for the much‑needed new Scout and Guide Headquarters in Menston!

Today, Y1 have had a special UK Day to round off their Geography unit about the UK. They have learnt about famous landmarks in each of the 4 countries of the UK, as well as learning some Welsh, doing some Irish dancing and enjoying scones, jam and cream! It has been a great day!

Reception has celebrated National Storytelling Week. They were inspired by 'The Snail and the Whale' and told stories with their storytelling snails and their whale storytelling plates.

Year 1 enjoyed their Fabulous Day on Wednesday last week. We were inspired by our text 'Fabulous Frankie'. All Frankie wants to be is fabulous but the best way to be fabulous is to just be you! We all dressed up as our best selves to encourage self-expression and confidence.

A group of six Y6 pupils attended the village Remembrance Day event on Tuesday. The children performed a poem and laid wreaths at the event, representing our school admirably.

To mark Anti-Bullying Week, our pupils and staff came to school on Monday wearing Odd Socks to celebrate what makes us all unique. #antibullyingweek2025

Remember, Remember the 5thof November! KS1 children learnt about the history of Guy Fawkes and The Gunpowder Plot. Pupils learnt about The Firework Code and enjoyed a creative afternoon making rockets, stick puppets, pastel artwork and much more. 🎆

Yesterday, Year 2 spent an afternoon learning about Bonfire Night and the Gunpowder Plot. The children engaged in a range of bonfire activities and made some fantastic artwork and craft creations!

On Wednesday, our Reception children had a fantastic time celebrating Superhero Day! The classrooms were bursting with excitement as little superheroes arrived dressed as their favourite characters—from caped crusaders to masked marvels!

This week, we celebrated our annual Harvest Festival with a heart-warming community spirit. A huge thank you to all the parents and carers who generously donated food items—your kindness will make a real difference to families supported by the Bradford North Food Bank.
