Hi Dr Jones! I never worked for Optum (I was with Sound), and yes I am employed. HCA Anesthesia has many great programs where we employ anesthesiologists, CRNAs and AAs. Im new to HCA but my first week I saw the incredible emergency response to Idalia. It was phenomenal. How about you? Doing well?

@ZachJonesForTX @HofkampMichael At any event involving our pool we hire a professional lifeguard. So worth the investment. The one we hired told us to turn the pool lights on and also that there is an AI camera that can help in drowning detection- amazing and we ordered it. It also detects anyone falling in!

Solo MD/DO cases, care team w/ direction, care team w/supervision, solo CRNA in rare cases (rural areas where an anesthesiologist is not practical- but we’ll hire an MD/DO if they want to go there!)

Full scope of practice for anesthesiologists means owning the entire perioperative episode and optimizing patient care and outcomes. For CRNAs it means practicing in a collaborative physician led care team including skills like lines, blocks etc.

A titan in the field, Dr. Apgar was the first woman full professor at Columbia University CPS. She is most well known for the development of a neonatal scoring system, now named for her, foundational to subsequent practice of neonatal resuscitation. #WIAWednesday
