Switzerland has made it illegal to place live lobsters into boiling water, following increasing scientific evidence that crustaceans may be sentient, capable of experiencing pain. Over recent decades, research has challenged the idea that lobsters operate on simple reflexes alone. Studies suggest their nervous systems are more complex, showing behaviors that go beyond automatic reactions and point toward decision-making under distress. For example, experiments with related species like hermit crabs have shown they will abandon their shells, essential for protection, when exposed to electric shocks. This kind of trade-off suggests an ability to weigh risk in order to avoid harm. Lobsters themselves possess nociceptors, specialized nerve cells that detect damaging stimuli such as heat. When exposed to extreme conditions, they don’t just react momentarily; they can exhibit prolonged behavioral changes, indicating a deeper response. Under the new law, lobsters must be stunned before being cooked, either mechanically or electrically, to reduce suffering. The legislation also bans transporting lobsters on ice, requiring conditions that more closely reflect their natural environment. Supporters view this as a necessary step forward. Many scientists argue that if there is credible evidence an animal can feel pain, it deserves consideration similar to that given to birds and mammals. But this raises a bigger question. With billions of crustaceans used globally each year, and practices varying widely—should other countries begin to rethink how these animals are treated? Source: CNN, “Switzerland bans boiling lobsters alive.”

🇺🇸🇨🇺 A Transgender woman (biological father) and her partner from Utah told the mother they would take her child to a camping trip to Canada. It was actually a flight to Cuba to get the child to a gender reassignment surgery without the mother's consent. The FBI got involved. The Trump DOJ sent a plane to Cuba. The child came back. Mom has full custody now. Total madness.

Lewis Roberts woke up just as doctors were about to take his organs. The teen was hit by a van. Doctors declared him brain dead and his family agreed to donate his organs. His family said doctors gave the 18-year-old “zero chance” of survival. The doctors officially certified him as dead and reported his death to the coroner. His sister Jade Roberts said the family agreed to donate his organs to help other patients in need, but they also continued to hope for a miracle. Then Lewis began to breathe on his own. At midnight, just hours before the organ operation was scheduled, Jade Roberts said she saw her brother breathe and recorded it on video. The called it a "miracle." And it's a reminder that doctors too quickly declare patients dead to harvest their organs.

Pediatrician and neonatologist Dr. Paul Byrne was one of the first physicians to question the validity of brain death. In 1975, Byrne was caring for Baby Joseph, a preemie born at a mere 24 weeks’ gestation. The baby wasn’t responding to stimuli, so Byrne ordered an EEG, a new technology at the time. “He had a flat electroencephalogram or EEG—in other words, no brainwaves,” Dr. Byrne recalls. The neurologist interpreted Joseph’s flat EEG as “consistent with cerebral death.” Byrne waited a few days, then repeated the EEG, and obtained identical results: no brain waves. Byrne gave the bad news to Joseph’s parents, who decided nonetheless to continue treatment. The result? “Joseph went on to be a straight-A student in school, build a brilliant career, and he’s now married and the father of three kids.” This experience launched Dr. Paul Byrne on his journey as an advocate for people falsely declared brain dead. At age 93, he continues writing and speaking; raising awareness that brain death is not death.

Helen Andrews dropped a blunt explanation for why wokeness proved so hard to kill: It’s rooted in feminine patterns of conflict — where disagreement isn’t debated, it’s treated as emotional harm that must be punished or silenced. Instead of open argument (like James Damore’s memo at Google), the response became “I can’t believe you said that” followed by attempts to get the person fired. Men tend to argue, resolve, and move on. Women, she argues, are more likely to hold onto grievances. If wokeness is partly a byproduct of rapid feminization of institutions, Andrews warns it won’t simply vanish with one election. It may be structural. She points to overly “HR-ified” workplaces where feminine preferences for emotional safety now dominate promotions, culture, and daily life — often sidelining masculine strengths in the process. Do you think some institutions have become too feminized in ways that suppress open debate and masculine virtues? Or is this framing off-base?
