The ugly face of British antisemitism seems so unbelievably present in the unnuanced rage of British people so eager for perceived justice in this one specific part of the world.

I want the suffering to end in Gaza. But seeing London full of protesters I do wonder how many of them feel antisemitism is simply acceptable and the suffering of Jews globally just retribution.

2:27 am and no answers. They’ve drawn her blood twice, as if by ritual. I sleep by placing my head on the corner of her bed.. We were told that we’d have to wait because two very sick people were brought in. How do you argue with that? I have to work and teach tomorrow. I need sleep. Anyway, the young man with the concussion and the man who survived the car accident are gone. An elderly man was brought in wearing glasses. At the foot of his bed is an attractive hipster couple in their 50’s. Life is tender and tenuous. An er has its own rules, its own rhythm like the beeping sounds that surround us. A somnambulic fever dream. I’m ready for my own bed. But others require attention.
