If you wiped the planet of Maradona/Pele/CR7/Di Stefano/Cruyff then the gap would be more analogous. Partially because footy is a more popular sport and also because theres so many great players

Everyone in the comments is missing the point. It doesn’t matter if Amazon, Walmart, or any other company has done similar things. The Target boycott is real and has been ongoing since their controversial DEI initiatives. That’s the company that was nationally called out and made an example of. The boycott isn’t a secret and it didn’t just start yesterday. So for Jay-Z to partner with them right now is a bad look. No amount of whataboutism changes that reality.
