The Batman being good doesn't absolve it from the criticism that it's never transformative with it's influences. Joker (and the Captain America products) are worse offenders, and while I never felt intellectually insulted by The Batman, I'd still rather rewatch Klute, Zodiac etc

Serious answer for a good music biopic: stop featuring headliners, start featuring session and bit players. Raging Bull and Amadeus are probably the two most acclaimed biopics ever because they're about minor figures orbiting Titans and moving through History.
