Strong SoTL starts w/ clear questions & matched methods. Study how teaching shapes knowledge, skills, & professional habits. Use mixed methods. Pair experiential learning with the Knowledge-to-Action framework to move evidence into practice, & measure it. #APTACSM

What’s your #SoTL idea? Many of us are on this journey. Good SoTL studies learning processes, fits context, uses solid methods, partners with students, and shares results. #APTACSM

Experiential learning (simulation, pro bono clinics, service learning, rotations) integrates habits of head, heart & hands, turning knowledge into action. Align teaching, service & scholarship, ask strong SoTL questions, and study outcomes to advance PT education. #APTACSM

Romney: Experiential learning drives growth through experience → reflection → conceptualization → experimentation. It prepares DPT grads for complexity, not just confidence, and requires structural support, strong partnerships & a culture of excellence to thrive. #APTACSM

Sizing 3D-printed orthotics? Use your slicer’s measurement tools: measure patient dimensions, scale the model by percentage or fraction, & adjust dimensions independently if needed. For @thingiverse models, check the “Makes” button, proven prints signal good geometry. #APTACSM

For beginners struggling with 3D printers, Bambu Labs is reliable and mostly “plug-and-print.” More advanced options like Creality require tinkering, but their forums and online communities provide great support for learning and troubleshooting. #APTACSM Viewing example models:

If you want to design, free tools @tinkercad (beginner-friendly), @Blender (textures/3D modeling) are great starting points. For hands-off access, library makerspaces or Makers Making Change connect users to 3D printing w/out owning a printer. #APTACSM makersmakingchange.com

3D printing is accessible w/ affordable printers like @Prusa3D , @BambulabGlobal , and @formlabs. Ready-to-print models are widely available online, & free slicer software makes printing easy. Community resources help bridge technical gaps for those less hands-on. #APTACSM

3D printing turns complex #anatomy concepts into hands-on, engaging models. Vestibular, spine, shoulder, & joint models cost a few dollars to print vs. $200–$300 commercially, can be modified for clarity or interactivity, and let students explore structures directly. #APTACSM

3D-printed prosthetic devices drastically reduce cost and allow experimentation. Sensors and simple code enable engagement with tasks otherwise limited. One-handed or adapted tools can support capacity building while keeping challenges appropriate for motor learning. #APTACSM
