@Takhar77 @tony_priaulx @psgoodguy They made the playoffs every yr under that GM. Consistent contender. A top 6 team in the league. Super fun to watch. Misfortune of playing a top 2 team every yr in the 1st round but took them to 7 games. I'll take that again any day!

@CanadasLeafs And it just wasn't a 1st/2nd round exit. It was 7 game series with multiple OTs. And losing to a team that would make the Cup finals. It was a team that was fun to watch and we expected to win every night. This team is not the same!

Just remember when you are down on the buds, there are still a stubborn few “fans” that will tell you not making the playoffs and get dog walked nightly is the same as a first or second round playoff exit. If you think that’s fake, just read some of the comments to my tweets.

Berube should have been fired in November, but instead the GM doubled down on approval of him. Now, they should both be fired tomorrow. Team effort in mgmt to navigate the sell - heavy input from Leach and co. on draft pick value and prospect returns.

@mpgates Yah but look at how they started games 5 and 6 when they just expected Montreal was going to quit. Then game 7 was over before it started. Also game 5 & 7 vs Florida were almost as bad. An organization should have 1 of those kinds of series before it gets blown up

@coreylandsberg They're not fun to watch. They get outplayed every game.They play slow. It's roster construction and systems. I recall Bérubé saying they had to be careful about an opponent because they are fast and skilled and will make you pay. I recall when that's how the Leafs were described

Anyway, it's a real wonder why people aren't being more positive about the Maple Leafs right now, and very weird that anyone would suggest that the losses this year are just hockey catching up to the decisions they've made

@commentNHL It did work in playoff hockey We pushed a lot of elite teams to the brink in razor thin margin series that could've easily had us advance further many years if not for a call/bounce/save/etc Those end results did not mean it "didnt work"

Keefe and Dubas were instantly hired by new teams and given raises/promotions Berube and Treliving are working their last NHL jobs

@JeffVeillette I'm with you. Just become fun to watch again. If they get better at zone entries, possession, cycling, etc it'll be a game changer. Previous staff didn't have this type of elite goaltending. Both goalies they had are out of the league now.

It’s really funny that the Leafs’ solution to the problem is going to end up being “get back to something more like what the old staff was doing”, but at this point I don’t really care who does it as long as the team gets better
