The production budget for Mando & Grogu is reportedly around $166M; and that’s before the $21M tax credit they got from filming in California. That puts the net budget closer to $145 M. Using that 2.5x rule, this movie only needs about $360M–$400M worldwide to start being a win for the studio. When your break-even point is that low, an $80M domestic opening isn’t a disaster; it’s a massive head start. If it follows the typical pattern for a family-friendly Star Wars flick, a domestic run over $200M is easily on the table, and once you add in the international box office, this movie is on a fast track to being comfortably in the black.

The pollen from the London plane trees during these two weeks of the year is like fibreglass, gets in the eyes, throat, lungs. Nobody is immune. It’s not a native tree, it’s a man-made hybrid, even though many of them are pretty old. There ought to be a ban on planting it, and they should be gradually replaced with native trees.

The next right wing British government needs to impose voting at 18 across the country for everything. The age of majority for everything should be 18. The age of consent, voting age, alcohol, smoking etc. You are either an adult or you are not.
