Imagine - a bird crashing through the windscreen of your airplane into your face, taking out your left eye. And then being able to turn your head to deflect the blood in the roaring wind, and safely land.
This man, my friend Syd Burrows, did just that. After the accident he changed his callsign to Cyclops and flew a full career.
Syd passed away today at 95.
He was proud to be the inspiration for the main character in my Apollo Murders thriller series. A long, beloved, good life, well-lived. Ad Astra, Syd.

Look, I'm actually happy to blame audiences for not showing up for the movies they say they want to see, but the decline of linear TV means that a huge chunk of this film's core adult audience never really saw marketing for it. It's a big problem.

Szwarc directed my favorite of the Fringe episodes we wrote, "Grey Matters," and was a complete delight to work with. I love how he stayed vital and engaged through a long and storied career, still directing TV episodes when he was pushing 80. R.I.P.

I've known @Huntvision since our Sarah Connor Chronicles days. He's a great guy who worked his way up from steadicam operator to one of the most sought after TV directors in the biz. Good to see him profiled here for paying it forward after losing his own family home in 2018.
