First round of the Donald Dewar was smashed by this duo! Well done Daniel and Oliwia! 🥳 @LornshillLangs @Lornshill

S2 are loving Percy Jackson and today we are working on making our own cabins for Camp Half-Blood #demigod #thelighteningthief @rickriordan

I’ve came in this morning and this card caught my eye. This class, my very first S1 are about to head into S4 at the change of timetable. It’s crazy to think this group of little covid S1s are now S4. They helped shape who I am as a teacher and I know they will do incredible 💛

The 2nd round is done and unfortunately Lornshill won’t be going any further but I honestly couldn’t be any prouder of my team and how they carried themselves. Tonight might feel disappointing however you’ve had an amazing experience and met this lot. #donalddewar

1A8’s Reader of the Week this week is Evie - well done Evie, proud of you. 👏#lornshillreads #readingschoolslornshill @scottishbktrust @LornshillLRC @LornshillLangs

@MissKirstinMG She did incredible, against a team that have won before as well. I am so proud of them

With those cold dark winter nights coming in Elmo has come home from a long week at school and decided to have a nice bubble bath and blow dry before bed. 🐘🛁 @BowhouseP2S #noelmosgotwet

@MrsBPsychology @MrTs_NQTs I was placed 1.5hrs away and had 3 kids, 2 of them under 3. I also have Crohn’s disease which the Uni were aware of however I was told as it was within the travel distance agreed then that was my placement. It wasn’t always easy but you get on with it and it was worth it
English

@BowhouseP2S I couldn’t find anything with their PE days so Scarlett has been full shirt and tie 🤦🏻♀️ Is it just a Monday?

@DiLeed @melissacreate15 @MrsKirstBarrett @EALDominicB @EAL_naldic @BellFoundation Please don’t take what I said wrongly, I am well aware that the students I am working with are incredible. At no point was I trying to infer that there was a ‘deficit’ with the child, the thing I found lacking was my ability to include students
English

@melissacreate15 @neeks_t @MrsKirstBarrett @EALDominicB @EAL_naldic @BellFoundation PS. Do remember that what conveys to you as ‘very limited English’ in your classroom, is only one aspect of the child’s (often multi) linguistic repertoire. Try to focus on positives rather than deficits.

@neeks_t When we asked for our EAL advisor's advice, she took a while to come in but she directed me to a bank of resources and ideas which were really helpful as a starting point. May still be worth getting in touch. TEFL sites always have useful things, as do the British Council too
English

@sarah_doyley There is however it could be a while before they are able to help me, I believe the demand on their time is high. I’m looking for things which I can take responsibility for and do to make my subject and lessons as accessible as possible
English

@neeks_t Your LA should have an EAL advisor to support with this. Has your school ever tapped into them? May be worth speaking to someone in school and see?
English

@EALDominicB It won’t let me DM you for some reason 🤷🏻♀️ I’ll definitely look at the things you have suggested though
English

@neeks_t @MrTs_NQTs @EdScotPLL @AppleEDU @OpenUniversity @TESOL_Assn @celt_cardiff @ELLs_uwindsor @BellFoundation DM me your email address and I'll send you some English resources. Have a look at @JKolota's pinned tweet for her summarised guides for As to Ds

@EALDominicB @MrTs_NQTs @EdScotPLL @AppleEDU @OpenUniversity @TESOL_Assn @celt_cardiff @ELLs_uwindsor @BellFoundation I teach English to 11-17 year olds. I’ve been using Microsoft translator to communicate and translate some of the text on my slides but I don’t know if I’m helping bridge the gap or creating a divide.
English

@MrTs_NQTs @neeks_t @EdScotPLL @AppleEDU @OpenUniversity @TESOL_Assn @celt_cardiff @ELLs_uwindsor @BellFoundation Thank you @MrTs_NQTs
My pinned tweet has lots of resources, advice and guidance. @BellFoundation has lots of free webinars that are great for CPD.
What subject do you teach and to what ages?
