Self hatred is just narcissism wearing a cheap disguise. You think your failures are uniquely catastrophic, your awkwardness is unprecedented, your face is the most embarrassing anyone has ever seen. That is not humility. Humility means thinking about yourself less, not thinking worse of yourself. What you are doing is inverted grandiosity. It could be said the same about self pity too. It is just narcissism disguised as depth. It feels deep but it is mostly entitlement in a sad mask. You tell yourself you expect nothing, that you are worthless, yet the theatrical despair betrays a quiet demand. You want someone to disagree. You want the universe to finally acknowledge your hidden value. It is not that your pain is fake. It is that ordinary discomfort feels unbearable when you have no other way to feel special. The daily frictions of life a rude email, a canceled plan, a mild embarrassment are not enough. So you upgrade them to tragedies. You need a storyline with real weight because a storyline with no weight would reveal the terrifying possibility that you are just another person having a normal Tuesday. That is the deeper narcissism. You would rather be a tragic hero than a nobody. You would rather be broken in a unique and beautiful way than admit that your problems are mostly the same boring problems everyone has. Self hatred becomes the costume you wear to avoid the plain face of ordinary life. And the joke is that ordinary life, with all its small annoyances and small joys, is where actual peace lives. But you cannot get there as long as you need your suffering to be special. The hard truth is that pain is ordinary and no one is coming to certify your suffering as specially tragic. The real distinction is between wanting to take responsibility and wanting to be the reason. Taking responsibility fixes what you broke and moves on. Wanting to be the reason clings to guilt like a trophy because being the cause means you still matter. That is the trap. Your self hatred is not a moral position. It is just another way of keeping yourself at the center of every story.

Homelander represents a general architype of a man who yearns for the love and approval of others, but has no real understanding of society or how to even love himself. He was taught to believe power is the only value people should care about, and his narcissism pushes him towards a goal that he can never truly reach. You saw Trump cause you believe he shares those qualities.

The Boys is another example of the Hollywood left trying to villainize the right and make them look awful. Similar to what they attempted with the Starship Troopers movie. They have increasingly tried to make Homelander into Trump, with him flipping out over memes, comparing himself to Caesar, etc. Where they failed is that everyone still likes him. Regardless of what he does, he still has fans. I know it drives the producers insane. It's little things like that, that make me happy.

He actually does. The whole movie is about him being shunned/bullied by his friends (who also bullied her) and everyone else. He grows up, develops social anxiety and wants to kill himself because he hates himself that much for the way he treated her. Only not going through with it because he wants to make it up to her, even though they were actual middle schoolers when this occurred. He learns sign language, helps her sister and practically dedicates himself to her, and the entire message is a beautiful one. That you can always atone for what you've done and anyone is capable of change and becoming a better person. How ironic that message is lost on Twitter users.

Ozempic does not “force” a caloric deficit like a cattle prod. It changes appetite signaling, satiety, gastric emptying, insulin secretion, glucagon, and in many patients improves glycemic control, fatty liver markers, and cardiometabolic risk. That is metabolism. The phrase “chemical crutch” is just moralizing in a lab coat. We do not call insulin a crutch, or antihypertensives a crutch, or glasses a crutch. We call them treatment. And this obsession with “root cause” is usually a racket. Obesity and metabolic disease are not one thing with one sacred origin story. They are genetics, appetite regulation, food environment, insulin resistance, sleep, medications, activity, and yes, inflammation. GLP-1 drugs act on several of those pathways at once. So no, this is not merely appetite suppression while the “real problem” hides in the basement. It is treatment of the very systems that are dysregulated. The scale is not the only outcome, but pretending improved blood sugar, less visceral fat, and better metabolic function do not count because a drug was involved is ideology, not medicine.
Diet & Nutrition@Diet0Nutrition

Ozempic isn’t fixing your metabolism, it’s suppressing your appetite while the root cause stays untouched. By mimicking hunger-regulating hormones, these injections induce significant appetite suppression and delayed gastric emptying, effectively forcing a caloric deficit. However, this exogenous intervention does little to resolve the underlying biochemical signaling issues or the cellular inflammation that drives weight gain in the first place. When the focus remains solely on the scale rather than restoring metabolic flexibility, the body remains dependent on a chemical crutch while the root cause often rooted in hyperinsulinemia and poor mitochondrial function continues to simmer beneath the surface.

A crime ring out of Tennessee was just busted for running wrench attacks on bitcoin holders across California, San Francisco, Sunnyvale, San Jose, and Los Angeles. They hacked into victims' DoorDash and UberEats accounts to figure out where they lived, then showed up posing as delivery drivers. Once inside, they zip-tied and duct-taped victims at gunpoint while a remote operator, using a voice modulator, directed them through draining the wallets. In one case they stole $13 million. In another, when the victim's wallet didn't show the amount the attackers expected, the voice on the phone ordered them to cut off the victim's fingers until he revealed the "real" account. A duress wallet won't necessarily save you. These attackers came in with specific intel about how much their targets held. If the number they see doesn't match the number they expect, the situation escalates. Physical attacks on bitcoin holders jumped 75% in 2025, with confirmed losses topping $40 million. A few things worth thinking about if you hold any meaningful amount of bitcoin. Don't talk about how much you hold. Not online, not at meetups, not to friends of friends. Operational security starts with not making yourself a target in the first place. Be skeptical of unexpected deliveries. This ring used real food delivery apps to build trust before showing up at the door. Multisig and time-locked transactions are worth looking into, not just for security against hackers, but because they make it physically impossible to hand over funds under duress. If the coins literally can't move for 48 hours, there's no point in holding someone at gunpoint. Self-custody is a responsibility. The tradeoff for being your own bank is that you're also your own security team.
