had no clue, but either there's a lot of stuff with replication, like the fact that CFrames are compressed with loss over the network, that already create differences between the client and server simulation there's also some stuff in lua that somehow can end up with different results depending on the machine lol

@nonbinary @OfficialMTM101 I suppose the correct way to say this is that Roblox is deterministic if nothing external about the simulation changes and it just proceeds as is lol

People who do not know how multiplayer architecture works: Man I can't wait for hackers to bypass this one! Roblox is a shit platform and apparently the implementation is bad but server authority is why you don't see fly hacks in games like CS2.

@OfficialMTM101 it does, the only missing piece is a deterministic physics engine, but afaik the current one is based on bullet so it's a bit of a mess and I dont think they can afford to replace it w something like Box3D rn

Assuming this is an actually good implementation, hackers can't lie about their position because the server is the one who is calculating it. Again I don't know if the implementation is any good/has proper prediction and rollback
