She takes off her gloves, revealing root-like veins that go down her fingers and up her arms, using spare fabric to wipe the blood off Adrian’s carapace.

Surprisingly, she shuts up and merely nods.
Simon is entirely in the right, yet it still causes shock to Ava’s system. Not entirely because of the situation but the words themselves. It’s barely noticeable how it truly affects her.
