I counsel couples and here's my main concern with this: Good relationships require communication about what the members of that relationship need. We come into relationships with different ideas of how to show and receive love, affection, and appreciation - which ones, and to what frequency. Having a conversation about what a satisfying relationship looks like to each person - ideally early on - can save a lot of arguments and resentment in the future. And if someone balks at what you have to say, you have an answer, and you've saved yourself some time.
