Genuine question How do you think the NHL views Aquilini's ownership of the Canucks? Do you think they care that he's killing the fanbase and team of the 3rd largest Canadian and 12th largest market in North America?

Patrik Allvin's firing is not enough, but it's a start. Foote should be next. Rutherford should be gone as well. Unfortunately, cleaning house may just continue the cycle of bad decisions from Aquilini.

Who had a worse tenure as Canucks GM?

I remember 1998-99. This year's team was bad, but I have more hope for it than I did with a Messier-led team

so....if the Canucks gets all the draft picks but no players of value or skill....what do they win?

Teams hand at contracts on the basis of many things, but I think tradability is low on that list. So complaining about handing out contracts that can't be traded hurts my head.

@kbbehr But clearing the deck is not a guarantee of success either. Do people trust Rutherford and Allvin to make the picks that can build success? Or is it another reason media uses to get clicks?

@kbbehr Yes, it's a long process and the team needs a 1st overall pick that deal with losing for a few more years and hopefully has thick enough skin to deal with Van media and fans. Big ask.

Do you ever get the feeling that the Canucks media wants the team to trade everyone....and then complain that there is no one left?

@stevepastro The belief that building a winning is a construction metaphor irks me. There is no sure fire method of building a winner, and the media's belief that there is, fuels discontent.

@nucksmisconduct Need to build it from the ground up with patience and no shortcuts. Need the owner to invest in a practice facility and proper medical staff. It’s not rocket science it’s unwillingness to pay up and feel pain

@stevepastro The economics of it seems to driving narrative. Hard to build a team that wants to stay and win here.

@nucksmisconduct Nope, seems like a pretty consistent chorus of trade the vets with term and UFAs to make room for young players and college free agents. Then supplement with high priced short term UFA deals for aging players that you can try to mine value from in future deadlines

@Raymond_Hatt Minnesota is in the West...just sayin. And in this case, it's the U.S. hockey media that doesn't care about Vancouver at all.

Its actually funny how long its taken for People out east to recognize just how good Quinn Hughes is. Canucks fans have been saying this for years finally gonna get the respect he deserves.

I have no bad things to say about Quinn Hughes as a person or a player. The Canucks were lucky to draft him and have him for all these years. The timing of the rest of this team was the bad part. We wish him well in Minn...but not a Cup.
