Pope Leo XIV said safeguarding minors is “essential for the life of the Church” as he addressed the Pontifical Commission for the Protection of Minors on Monday at the Vatican. The Pope stressed that preventing abuse must go beyond protocols and become a “culture of care” rooted in faith. Listening to victims and supporting survivors, he said, must guide the Church’s response, while responsibility for safeguarding cannot be delegated but must be concretely confronted by Church leaders.

This is Edith Stein, a saint who has inspired many other women in the Church. She was murdered in the gas chambers of the Auschwitz concentration camp on August 9, 1942. Orthodox Jewish by birth, she later became an atheist. However, after reading the autobiography of St. Teresa of Ávila, she converted to Christianity and became a Carmelite nun, taking the name Teresa Benedicta of the Cross ♀️ romereports.com/en/?p=87545

Ella es Edith Stein, una mujer inspiradora para otras muchas mujeres de la Iglesia. Murió en el campo de concentración de Auschwitz el 9 de agosto de 1942.
