Baby girl (aka Little One) has arrived! What started with a routine appointment led us to rush to the hospital for me to be induced and eventually deliver, but she’s here and is perfect. My friends and family were asked to send prayers for her, I’d love that from you too.

It wasn’t until I taught at a Core Knowledge school that had DAILY science and social studies lessons that I realized how much they had been pushed out of traditional public schools, and how little students are learning about the world around them.
Hilary M@hilarym99

I think that folks don’t grasp the degree to which science and social studies is completely pushed out of the curriculum. The stuff kids don’t know would shock most educated adults.

It was almost 90 degrees today. It should not be this hot in March. It’s very concerning to me that the climate monitoring that would provide some understanding of how significant this is and what is happening has all been shuttered by our current administration.

NEW: Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood is coming to YouTube, getting its own page. It’s the first time the show will be on-demand for free. Fred Rogers Productions tells me the page is coming this summer. axios.com/local/pittsbur…

The thing that I take away from the Covid lockdown is how many people expected schools—and teachers—to stay open to babysit their kids. Parents didn’t even try to hide it. “We both work. What are we supposed to DO?” If there is another lockdown I hope that is addressed.

Did a quick @tjmaxx trip with my daughter and grandson. Of course we had to look at the toys! My mouth dropped when I saw this. We aren’t giving our children any time to be tech free. It’s like we are training them from birth.

@visakanv Greek yogurt with berries, bee pollen, coconut butter, almond butter, and a small amount of granola. I make the same for the kidlet but without the pollen and granola.

So tempted to apply to become a park ranger in the same landscape my dad raised me. But the POST cert requirements turn me off (basically required to be a cop) governmentjobs.com/careers/marinc…
