@SXR123 Yeah now games launch badly and the studios/publishers cancel them and blame the fans for the bad reception and not the incomplete/unfun game. While I hated Hello Games after the No Man Sky launch, they put the effort in to make a better game without begging for more money.

I don't think we'll ever see another game release like No Man's Sky.
I don't just mean the game itself, I mean the disastrous first launch which was basically a glorified space flight simulator, to the full and completely realized game it's become.
Look at the game at launch vs what it is now. All of this via free updates because Sean Murray and his team wanted to deliver on what they promised and more.
Sean didn't have to give players free update after free update. Especially the last few, he could have marked those as DLC and people absolutely would have paid, hence the "No Sean, I have money!" meme.
No Man's Sky had a rough launch due to unfortunate timing and circumstances and became one of gaming's biggest redemption stories. We'll never see a game release horrifically at launch, stick around in spite of it, release FREE updates instead of DLC's to recoup lost revenue and become so drastically different that launch vs current are almost entirely different games.

@Iyokuu I think the bigger problem is not having free rental teams, so people who dont play that specific game will never have a very dominant pokemon. At least in mainline games you could rental team them.

This is one of the things I was worried about. Not the “pay walling” but people fear mongering the incoming F2P audience over incredibly basic knowledge.
You need the Pokemon games to get Pokemon: shocker. Champions was not giving anyone FREE access to 1000+ Pokemon at will.

@chasecharb @Flats_OW I mean this games has so much less reason to exclude pokemon as it doesnt have all the 3d rendered environments. And when we talk about no unevolved but let pikachu slip through just because, "ah its the mascot".
The game has objectively less options/variance either way.

There’s no “skill” in grinding. No exp share doesn’t make the game more skillful, it just makes grinding take way longer
I mean it does add some skill to training shit like Magikarp but idk I’d take exp share mechanics any day

Llevar a tu equipo Pokémon al nivel 100 era algo que te llevaba muchas horas y esfuerzo pero era muy satisfactorio, en los juegos nuevos puedes tener tu equipo al nivel 70 e igual has luchado con la mayoría de tus Pokémon 4 veces. Es algo que echo de menos, ojalá algún día él repartir experiencia para el equipo sea algo opcional que el jugador pueda elegir y no lo impongan de manera obligatoria.

I mean if Champions wasnt planned to just replace Competitive pokemon, it wouldnt be as bad. Creating a game to introduce new people makes sense. But if you alienate all the old people while doing it?
