#Kathua: President Awardee Teacher Khajoor Singh Works for Promotion of #Dogri Language Dogri artist Khajoor Singh, recipient of the President’s Award in 2016, is dedicated to preserving and promoting the #Dogri language and culture. A former teacher from remote #Kathua, he connects younger generations to their roots through Dogri folk music, dance, and literature. He has authored several books in Dogri, travels village to village advocating for the language, and wears traditional Dogra attire as a symbol of commitment. He also serves as an advisory member of the Art and Cultural Academy in Delhi and is translating Bengali literature into Dogri. In #Kathua, Lakhpati Didi Shakti Sharma from village Palli has set an inspiring example in mushroom cultivation. Starting with just 100 bags four years ago, she now maintains 4,000 bags and produces nearly one quintal of mushrooms daily. Shakti Sharma is also motivating around 200 women in her village to take up mushroom farming.
