I was at Sundance in 2013 and sat down at a fire pit outside a cafe. Started talking movies with this guy and asked him if he had heard of Movie Pass. He got real weird. Looked around. Then said “Did someone put you up to this?” I looked around. Then said “No.” He then introduced himself as Stacy Spikes, CEO of Movie Pass. We kept talking and then he saw two guys coming down the street. Stopped them. Then told them I’m a Movie Pass subscriber. One of them was excited about it. The other grumbled. Stacy told me the one had invested and the other hadn’t. He was a really nice guy. We talked for like 45 minutes. Wishing him nothing but the best.
