On April 9, 1917, Canadian soldiers began the gruelling operation to take Vimy Ridge back from German control. Under a creeping barrage and through enemy machine gun fire, thousands of young Canadian men laid down their lives. The capture of Vimy Ridge saw Canadians in regiments from coast to coast accomplish more than any previous British offensive in the war. The Vimy Ridge memorial sits atop Hill 145 on land given to Canada by France. Remember Vimy Ridge.

Prime Minister of Canada
More than a century ago, Canadian soldiers from across the country stood shoulder to shoulder to achieve a decisive victory at Vimy Ridge – one that came at a profound cost. Today, their legacy endures. It reminds us that unity must be built and that freedom must be defended.

BREAKING: President Trump has set a deadline for European allies to provide concrete military support in the Strait of Hormuz, including the deployment of warships, Der Spiegel reports. NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte informed European countries that political pledges made since the start of the conflict are no longer sufficient.

@georgetang2015 @saintjavelin Like they always will, which is correct, NATO is a defensive organization. They did not start this. Why not ask Israel's to help more.

@saintjavelin Absurd of course but interesting to see how NATO countries respond to this (assuming it's correct).

I wonder what the price of gas would be today if Brian Mulroney had not killed the National Energy Program and then privatized and sold off Petro Canada.

@TRUMP_ARMY_ Yet he and his family have made BILLIONS leveraging his presidency; so no, not a noble act at ALL. Y’all are eating shit sandwiches and believing that it’s chocolate because he said so. Wildly embarrassing to witness.
