On Friday PM said he’ll fight any leadership challenge. Now, when pressed by @bbclaurak, Kyle doesn’t repeat PM’s position from Friday, says only that PM is reflecting & thinking what’s right for country. No 10 told me last night the ‘position unchanged from PM’s determination to fight from Friday’

An absolutely awful attack- but totally predictable. You’ll now see people who have driven hatred of Muslims condemn the attack & feign surprise at how such a thing could happened. But if you create an atmosphere of hate you share responsibility bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

Reform, Restore et al have been inciting hatred and this is the consequence. And where are the speeches from ministers saying how laws need to be changed, marches need to be stopped and phrases need to be banned.

🚨 BREAKING: A 36-year-old white Scottish man is being investigated by Counter Terrorism Police after five people were stabbed in Edinburgh He said after his arrest: "I'm protecting the country from these fucking Muslim bastards raping our young daughters"

@wesstreeting It's an example of rising prejudice and polarisation between us all not just Muslims

The horrific images from Edinburgh are an extreme example of rising prejudice and hatred directed towards Muslims. We have to confront this as a nation. This where such hatred leads and it is not British. My thoughts are with those affected and the emergency services.

I am horrified by news of the attack in Edinburgh. I am grateful to the police and emergency services for their bravery in apprehending the suspect and for their speedy response in attending to the victims. The suspect appears to be motivated by anti-Muslim hatred. There is no place for hatred and violence against Muslims. I know it is not who we are as a country.

What happened in Edinburgh should disgust every decent person. I hope Rupert Lowe, Richard Tice, Elon Musk, Tommy Robinson and the rest of the anti-Muslim outrage industry are proud of themselves. I am sick to death of their daily hatred. Enough. Absolutely enough.

Where is the COBRA meeting, @Keir_Starmer? Or does that not apply when Muslims are attacked?

Went to see Paul Weller last night in Liverpool with my lad. I know Paul's a rabid lefty and champagne socialist, but as I've been a lifelong Jam fan, I was always able to see past the politics for the sake of the music. Half way through the set he only started ranting about Palestine. 🙄 Fuckin arsehole couldn't help himself.

Unbelievable to see people celebrating the fact @AndyBurnhamGM could be our next PM. He was twice rejected for PM because he was so lack lustre.Nothing has changed in the past years 8 years which he has spent piddling around in local politics.Yet Labour sees him as its saviour!

💥MEGA Electoral Dysfunction on is way - @HarrietHarman says Burnham is going to become PM. Starmer is going to be leaving office - “It's not that the herd is moving. They are stampeding” - “The PLP have made a decision that they're not hanging around with Keir Starmer” - I've spoken to a lot of junior ministers and MPs this morning, and they've all had AB on the phone asking for their support. Wes has been talking to people nobody I've spoke to has heard from the PM. - I don't think there's going to be any question of a timetable. We cannot have ministers in a state of paralysis all the way through the summer... if you're concerned about good government and not doing irreparable damage to the Labour Party, you want this to be done in a in a timely way. - There's a big role Lucy Powell (deputy leader) and Jessica Morden (chair of the PLP) Those two women need to get three men in a room, lock them in. Those men are Andy Burnham, Wes Streeting and Keir Starmer, and not let them out until they've agreed a swift process.

WATCH: Burnham is no longer the King of the North or Prince across the water. On Monday he will come to Westminster to stake him claim to be PM. Allies say Starmer has to decide whether he’s exit is bloody or dignified. He wants to fight, the next 72 hrs will determine if he can
