Results of TOPGEAR trial indicate no survival benefit for adding radiation therapy to perioperative chemotherapy in gastroesophageal adeno carcinoma. Chemotherapy alone should be the standard of care with chemo radiotherapy only used in the nonoperative setting. ESMO 2024

Today was our last theatre list with Prof David Bernshaw. We shall miss his teaching, knowledge, expertise, and wisdom. Every Friday he brought us lamingtons for morning tea. We will wear lammy socks in theatre in his honour. @AusBrachy @CanadianBrachy

Health Minister Martin Foley says the only people who should attend state COVID testing clinics are those with symptoms or those that have returned a positive RAT. Exception for those asymptomatic household contacts who can’t access a RAT.

@sueyom @ParikhSimul @LindaMileshkin PORTEC-3 was opened at a time when IMRT/VMAT was not SOC in many centres involved in the trial. 3DCRT used predominantly for that reason. Have submitted QA Analysis for publication. Hopefully you’ll be able to read further the details once published
