@UnsolvedNoMore I just finished this episode. What if the bullet holes in her head (if that's what they were) were from hunters shooting at rabbits, squirrels or groundhogs? If her body was laying on or in the ground and "covered" or "buried", shots could have unknowingly hit her head.
