Extremely hard for me every year. Ninety nine kids will like me but I will feel so defeated about the kid who despises me. Bu, you know, that’s life. Not going to be everyone’s cup of tea, and it’s a fool’s errand to try and teach with the goal of students personally liking you

I don’t really think she heard me, but I hope other faculty struggling with students who expect them to be someone they’re not do. you cannot have an authentic teaching style & persona that works for every single student. be the best you you can be. it took me too long to learn.
