A Black man in Washington, D.C. was surrounded by MPD and federal agents in unmarked cars and detained on the sidewalk because they claimed the way he looked back twice and adjusted his side bag made them suspect a gun. No weapon, no crime, no arrest — just a Black man walking home from a workout suddenly facing what he called ‘the assassin’ on him in broad daylight. This is not reasonable suspicion, it is a constitutional violation and a textbook case of racial profiling that has cost governments millions in settlements and verdicts.
