I have a good feeling about @megaeth over 2026 and 2027. I invested ~$169,000 in the ICO with a 12-month lock, so this was never a short-term trade. So it's going to be almost 18 months before I get tokens. This one is not a trade for me, but a thesis investment. Only two investments I've done over the past year (the other being @pumpcade). TGE is coming in only a couple of days (April 30). The market is starting to look favorable again for big high FDV launches. And MegaETH is the biggest item on the current TGE menu. I expect many of the unlocked ICO participants to fully sell on TGE. Monad's dump and subsequent recovery over the months are likely to be mirrored by MegaETH, though on a compressed timeline. I expect the $MEGA token will likely dip close to ICO (or slightly lower) FDV, but rip upwards soon-ish after. I don't think the team is the type to crime it upwards. And they have a stated policy of not bribing exchanges with chunks of the token supply to get a listing. This is pretty much unheard, but I admire and respect this, even if it takes the crime pump off the table. But a reasonable 2B-3B FDV by the six-month post-TGE market seems achievable in this market. Hitting a 5-10B FDV would take a sustained bull market or MegaETH becoming one of THE dominant chains for live apps that rivals Solana. But the absurdly good tech, strong ecosystem, targeted incentives, and mUSD expansion will push interest and liquidity into the Mega ecosystem. Keep in mind, this is the ONLY chain that has not paid out KOLs to shill, nor thrown token incentives at fake metrics. I have to admire that MegaETH is trying to do something different here, even if it's not the usual playbook (which has mostly failed to build any stickiness with all the other chains). I like the team's approach here and their goal to build a tech stack that can enable applications not possible with the current chains. The chain's focus on monetizing at the chain level (mUSD and proximity markets) gives utility relevance to the token that's forward-thinking and frankly, very much a different approach to other chains out there. When thinking about this investment, I consider two questions: 1) Can MegaETH tech enable applications not possible with current chains? 2) Can the team foster a thriving ecosystem that can utilize the tech and build stuff that reaches outside of the web3 bubble to scale to web2? Tech is good, but you need to pair it with biz dev to scale it to users. My bet is yes to both, though it's going to take a couple of years to find out. Locked in for the long term, but this is the ONLY chain I've seen that has a chance to actually bust things up. The last time I felt those tingly feelings that a blockchain could bust down the status quo and bring something completely new to the table was when I was reading the Solana whitepaper back in 2018. Can MegaETH become a major player in the chain space, rather than just another zombie chain with no users? We'll see, but it's legit one of the only chains that makes things that weren't possible before possible now.
